Minimally Invasive Approach for Ventral Hernia Repair

Minimally invasive hernia surgery first gained success with inguinal procedures, and Slovenia quickly kept pace, introducing the TAPP method nationwide within five years. By 2018, all surgical departments—and soon private providers—were performing laparoscopic inguinal repairs.

The question now is whether we can achieve similar success with ventral, postoperative, and umbilical hernias. These procedures are more complex, require advanced (and costly) technology, and demand longer training.

We are honored to welcome world-renowned lecturers to Ljubljana to share their expertise. We are also proud that the European Hernia Society has entrusted us with hosting this conference—recognition of Slovenia’s achievements in hernia surgery, our published research, and our efforts to connect surgeons across borders.

We hope this EHS Monothematic Conference on Minimally Invasive Surgery of Ventral Hernias will inspire further progress in the field, especially in your own daily routine.

You are cordially welcome to attend!

Our sincere thanks go to the European Hernia Society and to the organizing committee for making this important event possible.
